This paper evaluates the usage of metal silos at National Paddy and Rice Authority (LPN) complex of Bukit Kanak Trengganu (Malaysia). The paper discusses LPN experience in overcoming metal silo defects its operation and maintenance problems. Observations on the effect of the aeration fans in maintaining the quality of paddy during prolonged storage are reported. On the basis of these observations suggestions are made on various improvement works required for satisfactory usage of metal silos
