Abstract

Results showed that the addition of the humic substances humic acid (HA) and fulvic acid (FA) resulted in improved plant growth enhanced root development and increased uptake of the macronutrients with the effect of FA being more pronounces than that of HA. Significant differences in plant growth and nutrient uptake were also observed on addition of the micronutrients (Cu Zn Mn and Fe) to the growth medium. Interactions between the micronutrients (Cu Zn Mn and Fe) and humic substances (HA and FA) showed interesting effects on the uptake of both the macro and micronutrients
