Abstract
The research on groundnut dryers has been conducted at Khon Kaen Univ. Thailand with an aim to design and develop solar dryers suitable for groundnut farmers and farmer co-operatives in the northeast of Thailand. This paper dealt with technical and economic assessment of two dryer types namely forced-convective solar dryer and natural solar dryer with auxiliary heat sources from agricultural byproducts. Both the dryers have been tested from Apr-May 1984. The paper also described the economic analysis of the dryers with particular reference to northeastern Thailand conditions
