Abstract

The results revealed that peanuts obtained from distributors were aflatoxin free while about 30% of those bought from small retailers in the market (Bogor Indonesia) were contaminated by aflatoxin ranging from 7 to 2000 ppb of aflatoxin B. All samples of rice green gram and soybean were aflatoxin free. Eleven of 20 samples of corn were contaminated by aflatoxin with average values of 25.8 ppb of aflatoxin B1 and 24.8 ppb of aflatoxin G1. One sample of moldy candle nut was contaminated by aflatoxin with a value of 426 ppb. The results indicated that peanut and corn are the commodities which are most susceptible to contamination with aflatoxin
