Lim, G. T. (2003) Seasonal dispersal pattern of oil palm pollinator Elaeidobius kamerunicus Fst (Coleoptera: Curculionidae). [Proceedings Paper]
Abstract
A sampling study of the population of oil palm pollinator was conducted in a half an acre of 4 years old of oil palm in Sandakan, Sabah. Variance to mean ratios, Green's Coefficient of dispersion, a simple linear regression of log₁₀ (S²) against log₁₀( X) showed that the weevil population were usually aggregated in oil palm fields. Aggregation was best verified with seasonal regressions of m on x and logS² on logX. Lloyd's index values ranged from 1.043 to 2.264 which were more than unity (1) indicating the negative binomial distribution.
